Tomas Petraitis Véjas is an abstract artist, born in Vilnius and currently living in southern Spain. Since childhood, drawing has been his natural form of expression, later accompanied by an interest in architecture and interior design. Unable to find artworks that would truly resonate with and complement interior spaces, he began creating his own paintings - works that harmonize with the environment and reflect its spirit.
He mainly paints with acrylics, but his canvases often feature mixed media elements - traces of oil pastels, scratched surfaces, or unexpected textural accents.
Each painting is a journey without a predetermined destination. Only upon finishing does the artist discover what he was experiencing at that moment. His works reflect inner metamorphoses, the interplay of chaos and harmony, helping to rediscover the meaning of balance.
Tomas believes that his paintings bring art lovers a sense of calm, reverie, and inner focus.
About this artwork+
The painting shows a figure cloaked in darkness. The figure's face is barely visible, outlined only in white. There is a moth and a red dot near the center of the canvas, standing out against the dark background. Tomas Petraitis Véjas uses a minimalist style here, focusing on dark tones and simple forms. This creates a mysterious, almost haunting effect. The use of darkness can suggest thoughts hidden deep within, as the title "Under my Skin" implies. This painting invites viewers to look closer, to think about what lies beneath the surface.
