Šimkus earned his Bachelor's degree in graphic arts from the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA) in 2010. He applies these skills to enhance his individual artistry as well as collaborative work in urban settings.
As an active figure in street art, Tadas Šimkus is renowned for organizing the Kaunas street art festival "Nykoka." Through this event, he contributes to the transformation of urban spaces by adding vibrant colors and elaborate drawings to the cityscape. His artistic initiatives are intended to address both social and urban challenges, rejuvenate neglected areas of the city, and engage a range of communities in promoting creative expression and social conversation.
Tadas Šimkus also co-founded the interior and exterior decoration studio "Gyva Grafika."
