Sigita Paulauskienė, an artist hailing from Kaunas, Lithuania, began her artistic journey early in life. Encouraged by her mother, she attended an advanced art class at the local Communist youth high school. Later, Sigita continued her education at the Stepas Žukas art technical school, laying a solid groundwork for her creative pursuits.

Her career in art initially centered on jewelry making—a craft she dedicated herself to for seventeen years. Working with jewelry enabled her to express her fondness for color and the harmonious ways they can be combined. Nature remains Sigita’s greatest source of inspiration; she is enchanted by its quiet beauty, intricate shapes, striking colors, and ever-changing interplay of light and shadow.

Sigita’s fascination ranges from sweeping landscapes to the fine details of a flower petal or a single raindrop, finding beauty in both the impressive and the delicate features of nature. Such observations often ignite her imagination and drive her to experiment with color and form in her creative work.

The period of quarantine offered Sigita a chance to realize her long-standing ambition to paint. As she shifted her focus from jewelry to painting, she experienced a new passion—describing this artistic transition as miraculous and healing. For Sigita, art-making is a rich and rewarding process, transforming her feelings and creative thoughts into vibrant paintings that capture her perspective and her affection for the world around her.
