Rytis Kubilius has maintained a lifelong fascination with visual arts, a passion that naturally steered him toward a professional career as a graphic designer and photographer. Over the years, however, he began seeking a more profound and personal means of artistic expression, which ultimately led him to painting. Through years of exploration and experimentation, he found his calling in abstract painting, dedicating himself to developing a unique style that distinguishes him within the art world.

Texture and the nuanced interplay of colors are at the heart of Kubilius’s artistic approach. He strives to produce artworks that appeal not only visually but also invite a desire to reach out and feel their surfaces, encouraging viewers to imagine their tactile qualities. Much of his inspiration springs from the endless diversity of nature, supported by influences from textures, people, literature, poetry, the cosmos, and music.

For Rytis Kubilius, painting is an intuitive and fluid process. He lets his instincts and emotions steer him, allowing each piece to transform as he works. This method produces paintings that are visually compelling and rich in a sense of movement and metamorphosis, mirroring the unpredictability and depth of his creative path.

Kubilius aspires for his artwork to delight art enthusiasts and viewers, offering experiences that are equally captivating to the eye and evocative for the spirit. His commitment to his art is reflected in his meticulous attention to every element, and he genuinely hopes that those who see his work will feel the same pleasure and inspiration he discovers through creating it.

About this artwork+

The painting features a complex overlay of textured, tangled lines that resemble organic, root-like forms. Intermingled are splatters and blotches of contrasting colors like rust orange, golden yellow, and pale white against a predominantly dark, murky background that fades into shadowy black and gray areas. The visual effect is one of decay, interconnectedness, or a kind of chaotic growth, evoking a feeling of something both ancient and alive, possibly suggesting the relentless, unseen forces of nature. The textures and the palette combine to create a sense of depth and mystery, pulling the viewer into an almost otherworldly landscape.
