Rita Medvedevienė is an artist whose creative path is fueled by her constant exploration and desire to experience the realm of art. The act of painting brings her lasting joy, compelling her to return to her easel time and again and to seek inspiration and knowledge from the works of other artists. Her journey in art is defined by enduring curiosity and a steadfast commitment to refining her craft.

She is especially captivated by painting flowers from life, a passion that has led her to create gentle, tranquil pieces that emit a sense of positive energy. Medvedevienė also finds pleasure in portraying scenes inspired by her travels and nature’s ever-changing splendor. These moments become artworks imbued with magical realism, where her impressions and memories are laid onto the canvas.

Working mainly with oil paints, she utilizes both brushes and spatulas to create the effects she envisions. This approach allows her to convey nuanced shifts in mood while adding texture and depth to her paintings. Nature and travel consistently influence the subjects and mood of her art, often drawing observers into the serenity and sense of wonder she herself discovers.

Since 2015, Rita Medvedevienė has been actively displaying her artwork through solo and group exhibitions throughout Lithuania and Europe, as well as participating in local and international plein air painting events. She wishes for her creations not only to serve as decorative accents, but also to enhance your living space with harmony and enrichment.

About this artwork+

The painting showcases a vivid and dynamic seascape, featuring an expansive view of the ocean waters that churn in shades of deep and vibrant blues, interspersed with lighter turquoise and green hues that suggest the reflection of light on the water's surface. Dominating the foreground are lush, colorful clusters of wildflowers in pinks, yellows, and touches of orange, creating a contrast with the deep blues. These flowers are set against craggy cliff sides, painted in a palette of oranges, browns, and greens, providing a sense of rugged, natural beauty. In the middle of the composition are prominent rock formations rising from the sea, their sharp, jagged surfaces rendered in shades of gray and white, highlighting their striking isolation in the vast body of water. Above, the sky is depicted in soft pastels, primarily light blue with hints of purple and white, suggesting a time of day where light is beginning to fade, with the calmness of the scene providing a sense of serene isolation and tranquil beauty.
