Rimas Nakrašas is a professional painter whose connection to art took root early in life. His journey began at the Šiauliai City Children's Art School and later continued at the Faculty of Art at the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute, where he expanded his understanding. This academic background has played a crucial role in forming his unique means of artistic expression and his proficiency with painting techniques.

Rimas views painting as "music not composed of sounds, but of colour tones." For him, the harmonious interplay of colours creates a kind of visual symphony, and it is the environment — most notably blossoming gardens — that serves as a constant source of inspiration. Through his canvases, he invites viewers to enter the magical, vivid realm he perceives and brings to life in his art.

The artist pours his emotions into his paintings through the use of oil paints, which he believes are the most effective medium for conveying the complexity and depth of his moods. Nakrašas finds particular inspiration in the Impressionists and incorporates their focus on light into his own work. His approach blends the luminous quality of impressionism with realistic elements, producing paintings that are both expressive and lifelike.

Rimas Nakrašas has participated in the American Art Awards, competing in the realism category since 2017. From his first entry, his talent was acknowledged with high praise in this international competition. He remains committed to his artistic path, driven by a passion to share the beauty and enchantment of the world through his artwork.

About this artwork+

The painting titled "Ripe" by Rimas Nakrašas captures a still life scene featuring three pears. Two of these pears, glowing warmly in yellow tones, rest inside a clear glass bowl, while the third pear sits below the bowl, its reflection mirroring on the shiny surface it rests upon. The background, a mottled blend of greens and yellows, suggests foliage or vegetation, creating a soft, natural backdrop that contrasts with the stark clarity of the glass bowl and the pears. The use of light and shadow in the painting emphasizes the ripeness of the pears, highlighting their smooth, full contours and the subtle variations in their golden coloration. The scene is serene and vibrant, evoking the lushness of a fruitful harvest.
