I would describe myself as someone who lives with watercolour, immersed within it. I am captivated by its delicacy, its unpredictability, and the special way it responds to water. My inspiration often comes from nature, so flawlessly crafted by God. At the same time, the vibrant energy of city life also draws me in—the noise, the activity, the shifting shadows on buildings in the sunlight, or the reflections shimmering on wet streets after rain. Colour holds particular significance for me; the palette I select shapes the evolution, spirit, and mood of each piece. Through my art, I invite you to imagine, to escape to a place of tranquility and goodness… Enigmatic, yet safe… Wishing you a pleasant journey!

Raimonda Rauluševičienė is an artist whose creative path is closely linked to the expressive, fluid nature of watercolour. Drawn to how light and colour interact, she surrenders to the spontaneous qualities of water and pigment, creating artworks that stir feelings of awe and calm.

Her explorations revolve around themes that are both personal and universal, often sparked by the beauty of the natural world and the ever-changing cityscape. Her paintings encapsulate fleeting scenes—the dance of shadows, sunlight glinting, and the interplay of reflections on wet pavement. Each work offers viewers a moment to pause, reflect, and embark on a gentle journey through colour, mood, and imagination.

Raimonda Rauluševičienė has presented solo exhibitions in Kėdainiai and Šiauliai. Her accomplishments include participation in international watercolour biennales, and her art has been shown abroad, notably in Slovenia and Albania during the International Art Festival. Through these endeavors, she continues to share her passion for watercolour and her distinctive artistic perspective with audiences in Lithuania and around the world.

About this artwork+

The painting "Pirate" by Raimonda Rauluševičienė captures a haunting image. There's a face in the center, looking straight at you. An eye patch and a dark, intense gaze stand out. The colors are soft, mostly grays and browns, with pops of yellow and orange. Rauluševičienė uses watercolor techniques to create a blurred, dreamlike feel. Her strokes give a sense of motion and depth. Faces and shapes merge together, almost like a memory or a vision. The style is abstract and expressive. It seems to reflect on the idea of a pirate, not just as a person but also as a complex character with stories and mysteries. Overall, it's a powerful piece. It makes you think and feel. It lets the imagination wander and wonder.
