About this artwork+

In this painting named "Vilnius (Old Town)" by Milda Jonušauskienė, there’s a beautiful blend of architecture and ethereal figures. The backdrop shows the iconic skyline of Vilnius’ Old Town, filled with detailed depictions of churches and historical buildings. Each structure is finely rendered, emphasizing their ornate spires and domes. On the right, a translucent figure dominates. It appears like a guardian of the city, its form merged softly into the skyline. The use of muted colors and sepia tones adds a dreamlike quality. The gentle incorporation of golden accents, particularly on the figure, brings a touch of mysticism. Jonušauskienė’s style here is delicate and slightly abstract. She plays with light and shadow, creating depth without overwhelming the viewer. It’s a serene yet powerful representation of Vilnius, capturing both its physical beauty and spiritual essence.
