The prominent use of bold shapes and motifs further enhances the distinctive mood of her pieces.

About this artwork+
In this painting, a figure is depicted in monochrome against a textured background of intersecting yellow and red lines, reminiscent of a grid or woven fabric. The figure, appearing deep in thought, holds a cigarette between their fingers, bringing it close to their slightly parted lips. A significant aspect of the image is the bright red beret worn by the person, sharply contrasting with their pale skin and adding a pop of color that matches the red in the background. Another particularly distinctive feature is a thin, green stem-like object that curls from the beret, suggesting a playful or whimsical element. The person’s eyes are closed, enhancing the introspective mood conveyed by their serene, contemplative facial expression.
