In 2009, the artist Maksas embarked on his painting career, dedicating himself chiefly to the practice of realism. His commitment to portraying vivid details and authentic emotions shines through his artwork. Yet, Maksas does not confine himself to a single approach—he frequently ventures into various artistic styles, demonstrating both his adaptability and eagerness to experiment within the visual arts.
Maksas draws significant inspiration from the female body. This theme emerges in much of his work, where he examines form, beauty, and expression as seen through his unique perspective. His renderings of the human figure reveal not only technical proficiency but also a thoughtful sensitivity toward his subjects.
Maksas held his inaugural solo exhibition in 2019 in Tauragė, a Lithuanian city. Organized by the Tauragė Rotary Club, the event carried a charitable mission. The proceeds from the sale of his paintings during this exhibition were donated to children, underscoring his dedication to supporting the community through his art.
Beyond Lithuania, Maksas’s artworks have been appreciated and acquired for private collections in countries including England, Ireland, Germany, Ukraine, and in his homeland. This international presence illustrates the broad appeal and emotional resonance of his creations with audiences from various backgrounds.

In the painting, at the heart of the composition stands a grand classical structure atop a stepped landmass, flanked by soft golden stairs. The structure features robust columns supporting a large, suspended golden bell. Beneath this platform, a vast sea stretches into the horizon, blending with a dusk sky. Hovering above the water, two striking and surreal figures interact with the scene. On the left, a lithe, humanoid figure draped in dark, flowing fabric delicately dangles a pendant atop the bell as if to ring it. Her form is graceful, merging seamlessly with the depths of the sky. On the opposite side, a woman with flowing orange hair mimics a poised stance, her long, lithe leg elegantly outstretched towards the bell. Her posture and the vibrant warm hue of her appearance contrast notably with the twilight backdrop. Below and in the forefront, a massive, benevolent tortoise occupies a rock, its gaze affable and serene, facing upwards towards the bell. The entire scene is encapsulated by whimsical bubbles that float and drift throughout, lending an air of magic and ethereality to the setting.
