Jūratė Kadusauskaitė, a Lithuanian artist, is recognized for her abstract paintings that highlight spontaneity and vibrant expression. Her creative method intentionally steers clear of strict forms, opting instead for dynamic color patches, fluid lines, and inventive improvisation. By playing with striking and surprising color pairings, layered brushwork, and occasionally integrating decorative motifs or patterns, she produces artworks that are visually captivating and rich with emotional depth.

Even in her landscape paintings, Kadusauskaitė maintains her commitment to abstraction. She sets aside realistic depiction, embracing abstraction to share her impressions and allowing elements of nature to dissolve into expressive marks and harmonious color arrangements. This approach gives viewers a chance to see familiar scenes through her distinct perspective, often encouraging them to discover new viewpoints on landscapes they may typically overlook.

Her paintings offer a deeply personal glimpse into her inner world, turning each work into a portal to her feelings and recollections. Kadusauskaitė’s abstract visual language—where motion and color embody meaning—creates a path for viewers to engage with her art personally. In doing so, her work resonates with audiences, inviting them to find their own emotions and narratives within her expressive pieces.

Since 1996, Jūratė Kadusauskaitė has presented six solo exhibitions, displaying her artistic progress over time. She also regularly joins group exhibitions and plein-air painting sessions, making active contributions to the larger art community. Through these experiences, her distinctive style and creative outlook continue to reach, move, and motivate audiences both in Lithuania and abroad.

About this artwork+

The painting showcases a dreamlike landscape enveloped in a blend of soft and vibrant hues, evoking a sense of ethereal tranquility. Dominating the canvas is a swirl of teal and white lines, perhaps representing the wind itself, swirling dynamically across the space. This abstract, winding element stretches over a background washed in greens, yellows, browns, and blues, colors overlapping and blending into each other like a melody. Each brushstroke contributes to a feeling of movement and fluidity, suggesting the transient, unseen force of the wind as it moves through an undefined, atmospheric space. The painting's textures and layers create depth, with rough, visible brush strokes adding a tactile element to the visual experience. The entire composition feels open and free, inviting the viewer to feel the movement and perhaps the chill of the wind it portrays.
