In his works, the author seeks to combine visual and emotional elements that allow him to explore complex human feelings and energy flows, and reveal the dynamics of inner states, changes in colors and forms, impulsive thoughts and their influence.
By using natural materials, the author ensures the quality and durability of his work, while the bright, impasto texture seeks to enhance the expression of feelings and encourages the viewer to discover their own interpretations.
"His painting is characterized by a distinctive style, free, expressive brushstrokes, refined textures, aesthetic color combinations, sensual expression, and professionally mastered technique. This young man, sensitive to nature, immerses himself completely in the moment of creation and captures the subtlest nuances of nature and his inner state in his works.
J. Vasiliauskas' landscapes are not just beautiful images of nature. They stir and resonate in the depths of the soul, testifying that the young painter is capable not only of grasping the essence of nature and human states, but also of conveying this to the viewer in a compelling way." - Art critic, curator at the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum, Vilma Kilinskienė.
After graduating from Kaunas Art Gymnasium, the artist is currently continuing his creative journey at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where he is seeking to deepen his knowledge of painting and develop his individual style. He participates in exhibitions and competitions and has won various awards. In the future, he plans to present his work both in Lithuania and abroad.
About this artwork+
This painting titled "Brilliance" by Jonas Vasiliauskas captivates with its rich textures and vivid colors. The artwork is composed of thick, impasto brushstrokes that create a dynamic sensation of movement across the canvas. Bright greens, blues, purples, and yellows are layered, enhancing the visual depth. In the center, two circular forms, possibly representing lights or reflections, dominate. They stand out with their cooler, bluish-green tones against the warmer colors. This contrast pulls them to the forefront, making them a focal point. Vasiliauskas employs an abstract style, allowing viewers to interpret the scene in personal ways. The expressive nature of his technique adds to the painting's allure, making it not just a visual experience but an emotional one as well. This piece is an excellent example of modern impressionism where the artist focuses more on the impact of light and color than on precise realism.
