All artworks

Jolita Grigucevičienė, an artist born in 1977 in Ukmergė, Lithuania, found her passion for art at a young age. She attended art school and later earned her degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Šiauliai University. Dedicating herself professionally to the arts, she works at an art school, guiding and inspiring aspiring artists.

Apart from her teaching responsibilities, Jolita spends her free time creating miniatures. Since 2001, she has been actively involved in the art scene, regularly participating in group exhibitions and plein air events. In 2022, she held her first solo exhibition, marking a significant highlight in her artistic journey by sharing her work with a broader audience.

For Jolita, art is an intensely personal and transformative pursuit. She describes her creative process as a form of self-listening, often channeling her inner struggles into something positive. Her works encompass varied themes and the emotions she "hears" inside, which she communicates through her drawings using different graphite pencils.

Jolita’s miniatures stand out for their minimalist and illustrative style, frequently incorporating esoteric symbols, assorted signs, and imaginative creatures. Though seemingly simple at first sight, her pieces encourage viewers to search for deeper meanings beneath the surface. Through her art, she strives to infuse each work with light and contribute to inner harmony.

About this artwork+

This is a very intriguing painting. It shows a bird-like figure in black and white. The bird's body is made up of numerous tiny, detailed lines and textures. It looks almost like it's crafted from a complex, scribbled map. Jolita Grigucevičienė, the painter, has a delicate and precise style. Her use of fine details and minimalistic color brings out a stark contrast. This style makes the viewer focus closely on the patterns within the drawing. The reflection beneath the bird adds a dreamy, mysterious quality. This artwork intrigues and invites contemplation.
