Born and raised in Darbėnai, a town situated in the Žemaitija region, Irena Jasiūnienė is an artist who has spent over thirty years living and working in Panevėžys, which she now considers her home.

In recent years, Irena Jasiūnienė has dedicated more and more of her attention and energy to painting. Much of her inspiration arises from her immediate environment—nature, the nearby landscapes, and the various locations she has visited both within Lithuania and abroad during her travels.

The artist has a particular affinity for depicting reality as she perceives it, favouring subjects that feel natural and familiar. Landscapes and still lifes, therefore, remain among her preferred genres. Through them, she seeks to convey a vision of the world that is authentic and accessible.

Liveliness, vibrant colour, and a sense of authenticity are qualities Irena Jasiūnienė consistently strives for in her art. She seeks to produce paintings that exude positivity and inspire uplifting emotions in those who view them, believing that art should engage both the eye and the heart.

About this artwork+

In the painting, a serene winter landscape unfolds with a winding snow-covered path leading towards a traditional homestead nestled beside a lake. On either side of the path are rustic wooden homes, their roofs heavy with fresh snow, suggesting a quiet, undisturbed scene. Bare trees frame the houses, their branches creating intricate patterns against the soft blue sky in the background. The glow of a fading sun bathes the distant horizon in a tranquil, golden light, hinting at a secluded paradise away from the bustling world. Sparse vegetation pokes through the snow, adding a touch of resilience to the serene winter tableau. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, conveying a sense of isolation and simplicity.
