About this artwork+

The painting features two plump, anthropomorphic seagulls standing upright against a vibrant turquoise backdrop. Each bird is depicted with a whimsical charm; their bodies are robust and rounded, painted in soft shades of white and gray with subtle hints of peach adding warmth. Their large heads turn slightly towards each other, suggesting a silent communication or shared secret. The eyes of both seagulls are small and bead-like, one gazing directly ahead while the other looks on with a tilted head, giving it a curious demeanor. Their beaks are oversized and cartoonish, with the bird on the left sporting an orange beak, and the right one having a more pronounced hook at the tip of its pale orange beak. The textural details on their beaks give them a rugged, tactile look, contrasting with the smoothness of their bodies. The seagulls’ legs are thin and stick-like, colored in a rusty orange, and they stand solidly with their feet splayed outward. The background, devoid of any other elements, focuses attention solely on the seagulls, emphasizing their expressive postures and comedic presence in this captivating portrait.
