All artworks

Indrė Beinartė is an artist who primarily expresses herself through monochrome ink painting. Using this medium, she captures the essence of objects by emphasizing depth and simplicity, while embracing emptiness and open space. Through the elimination of superfluous details, her works evoke a quiet intensity and a contemplative energy.

Her artistic philosophy is deeply influenced by Japanese aesthetics, as seen in her affinity for minimalist arrangements, nuanced subtlety, and the expressive nature of calligraphic brushwork. Indrė frequently works with sumi ink on handmade papers such as xuan and washi, later mounting these paintings on linen or canvas, and sometimes accentuating them with natural wood. The imagery in her pieces merges East Asian and Lithuanian landscapes, featuring cranes, herons, and softly rolling, grassy hills that speak to her personal ties to her native land.

Indrė Beinartė’s artistic vision is shaped by a spirit of exploration and keen observation of the natural world. She places great value on presence and mindfulness within her creative process, aiming to reflect the balance between darkness and light as well as the dynamic relationship between shadow and abundance in nature. Through this deliberate and thoughtful approach, her brushwork communicates emotion and encourages viewers to pause and notice the nuanced beauty of life.

In 2024, Indrė Beinartė presented two solo exhibitions and continues to nurture her passion by leading workshops focused on Japanese culture and ink painting techniques. Moreover, in 2022, she wrote and illustrated a bilingual children’s book, further demonstrating her versatility and ongoing dedication to inspiring creativity among a diverse audience.

About this artwork+

The painting depicts a serene and delicate scene centered on a wisteria. An elegantly twisted branch extends from a rugged, textured vase situated at the right side of the composition. The branch arches gracefully across the canvas, adorned with soft, silvery-green leaves interspersed along its length. Dangling from the branch is a lush cluster of wisteria flowers. The blossoms are painted in a vibrant shade of lavender, arranged in a cascading formation that adds a dynamic sense of flow and natural beauty. The background is minimal and lightly colored, ensuring that the focus remains on the wisteria and its simple, yet profound elegance. The overall effect is one of tranquility and the subtle interplay of color and form.
