Ina Loreta Savickienė works with ink and mineral pigments on rice paper, exploring East Asian painting traditions, including Chinese gongbi and xieyi, as well as Japanese sumi-e and nihonga.
While working across different cultural traditions, the artist does not aim at stylistic imitation. Instead, she seeks a personal visual language in which painting becomes a way of experiencing time, silence, and the natural processes of change. Her work is defined by a balance between control and chance: the line remains disciplined, yet the material itself is allowed to act. This tension creates a living, shifting image, where form may appear only as a suggestion and space remains open and undefined.
Color and background play a significant role in her work, not as decorative elements but as atmospheric space. Mineral pigments are layered so that color functions like light, mist, or air. The background is never neutral — it envelops the motif, giving it depth and mood. Light is not depicted directly, but emerges through tonal intensity, transitions, and the relationship with empty space.
The artist paints natural motifs—trees, landscapes, plants, courtyards, and gardens—interpreting them through the aesthetics of East Asian painting. Where Eastern artistic philosophy meets the experience of the Baltic landscape, familiar images acquire a new, contemplative resonance, inviting the viewer to pause and experience moments of stillness and harmony.
Ina Loreta Savickienė has held the official status of an artist since 2020. She has organized over 10 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.

This painting, titled "Blooming Plum", captures the vibrant blossoming of a plum tree. The trunk and branches, depicted in deep brown tones and detailed texturing, twist elegantly, lending a robust yet graceful structure to the composition. Sprouting from these are numerous slender branches, swathed in a profusion of pink blossoms. These flowers range in shade from soft to intense pinks, clustering densely at some points and scattering lightly at others, creating a lush and dynamic canopy. The background, rendered in a textured beige color, enhances the vividness of the blooms, making the scene almost tactile. Adding a unique touch, a bright red seal in the corner complements the artwork with a hint of traditional Asian aesthetics.
