Gedeminas Barčauskas, although an architect by training, is most passionate about painting. He views art as a form of meditation—a way to express emotions and attain inner tranquility. For Barčauskas, painting goes beyond the confines of set rules or the necessity to conform to any particular style.

He points out that his creativity is driven largely by intuition and an innate understanding of what feels and appears right to him. This method grants him considerable artistic freedom, resulting in works that are both highly personal and rich with emotion. Rather than aligning his paintings with any conventional art movements, Barčauskas chooses to let each creation develop on its own terms.

Over the course of his artistic pursuits, Barčauskas has taken part in numerous group shows and art contests. These events have enabled him to introduce his artwork to wider audiences and engage with fellow artists. Such experiences have played a vital role in both his artistic and personal growth.

The year 2021 marked a pivotal point for Gedeminas Barčauskas as he debuted his first solo exhibition. This occasion represented a significant step in his career, affording him the chance to display a body of work and communicate his distinctive artistic vision to the public.

About this artwork+

The painting depicts a young man immersed in playing a stringed instrument, possibly a violin or a similar instrument, surrounded by an abstract, chaotic background of blue and white streaks and drips, giving the impression of a blurred, dynamic atmosphere. The figure is painted in monochromatic tones, with his face showing a concentration that evokes a deep connection to the music. Numerous thin, diagonal lines, resembling sticks or arrows, crisscross around and in front of him, adding a sense of motion and intensity to the scene. The artist uses contrast effectively, with the darker figure of the musician set against the lighter, more tumultuous background, highlighting the emotional depth of the moment captured.
