I am a visual artist whose primary form of expression is painting. I studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where I completed both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Painting. At the core of my work lies an emotional relationship with the environment and its reflections in color and form. I am interested in visual experiences where reality and interpretation merge and fragments of everyday life acquire symbolic weight.

My works often emerge from observing nature – the vibrations of light, the structures of plants, or organic patterns. These become metaphors for human inner experiences, our relationship with the world and with ourselves. I am drawn to the balance between calmness and tension, between clear form and abstraction. Most of my practice is rooted in painting, where I experiment with the intensity of color, layering, and texture.

I use neon and other office-style markers in painting as tools that act less as color and more as gesture – a highlight. By emphasizing fragments of nature, I invite the viewer to pause, to look closely, and not to simply pass by.

My art is an invitation to an inner journey, where color, form, and emotion become a universal language that opens spaces for dialogue with the viewer.

About this artwork+

In this painting titled "Life Springeth" by Gabrielė Krulytė-Žurauskienė, you see a vibrant field of green and yellow hues. The colors are scattered in a lively and irregular pattern. It almost looks like a dance of light and leaves, possibly representing the eruption of life in springtime. The style used here seems impressionistic. Gabrielė Krulytė-Žurauskienė might have preferred to focus on the emotional effect of colors and light, rather than detailed representation. It's fascinating how she captures the essence of spring with such simple yet captivating brushstrokes. Each splash of color adds to a grander sense of vitality and growth.
