Every painting you buy in our gallery is an original work of art. With every painting we sell you receive a certificate of authenticity, which guarantees that you are buying a work by that specific artist.

Please note that buying a painting does not transfer its copyright — you do not acquire the right to use the artwork commercially, for example to copy it or produce reproductions.

30-day return guarantee

Our main goal is to help you find the one artwork that truly fits and delights you — it is an object that will decorate your home for a long time and will eventually be passed on to future generations.

Although by law works of art cannot be returned (the seller's consent is required), don't worry — if you have doubts within 30 days of the purchase date, contact us: we will take the work back and refund your money, or offer you to choose another one from our art platform!

Delivery

Delivery time: 10–14 business days. Every artwork ships insured by courier (FedEx/DHL) with a tracking number. Originals are one-off pieces and are packed with particular care. If you need the piece sooner, contact us — we can usually find a solution. For deliveries outside the EU, import duties may apply; these are borne by the recipient.

Returns

As a consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive the goods — no reasons needed. Details and the model withdrawal form are in our withdrawal notice (linked in the footer). Beyond that, as a courtesy we accept returns up to 30 days after receipt — an artwork should truly delight you. Contact us and we will find a solution.

Light, tranquility, and a gentle touch of melancholy—these are the characteristics Eglė Petkevičiūtė attributes to her art. She welcomes viewers into a serene, reflective world through her creations, where each piece offers a subtle experience of emotion and contemplation. The peacefulness within her art is conveyed by minimalist arrangements, resulting in an atmosphere that is both serene and thoughtful.

Eglė most often favors line drawing as her technique of choice, highlighting its meditative and fragile qualities. She refers to this process as one that demands patience—sometimes drawing and waiting until a moment arrives when the line appears to “flow” on its own, narrating its story. The tale unfolds not through dramatic gestures or bright colors, but rather through the natural, continuous quality of her lines.

The word that best defines Eglė Petkevičiūtė’s approach is elegance—one that is effortless and organically achieved. Subtlety, minimalism, and clarity characterize her work, leading to pieces that are distinguished by their grace and lack of excess. Her lines traverse the page with a gentle sophistication, achieving a refined simplicity that feels unforced and genuine.

Her artwork frequently focuses on depictions of women and girls, presented without overt context or storyline. These figures seem lost in their reflections, radiating a sense of quiet inner tranquility. The expression within her art is found in subtle elements: a tilted head, the position of a hand, or a small, easily overlooked object being held. In these nuances, meaning emerges, prompting viewers to examine more closely and attend to the unspoken stories hidden within the drawing. Eglė completed her bachelor’s degree at Vilnius Art Academy in 2010, an experience that further helped to shape her artistic path.

About this artwork+

The painting portrays the profile of a woman adorned with a hat. Her head is slightly tilted downward, lending a contemplative or introspective air to her demeanor. The hat, broad-brimmed and fitting snugly, casts a shadow over her face, obscuring her eyes and part of her nose, enhancing the aura of mystery about her. She wears a long coat that appears smooth and structured, suggesting a sleek elegance. The background is starkly white, drawing all attention to the black ink used for the simple yet expressive lines defining the woman's features and attire. Her lips are closed, her jawline sharply defined, while her ear peeks slightly from under the rim of her hat. It's a minimalist piece, using economy of line to convey an essence of character and mood.
