About this artwork+
This painting, titled "Burning Water," by Egidijus Godliauskas, captures a dynamic flurry of colors and shapes. The canvas is filled with strokes of grey, black, green, red, and blue. If you look closely, these colors blend and contrast in a way that suggests movement and chaos, almost like water currents swirling in a frenzy. The style of this artwork is abstract and expressive, emphasizing emotion and energy over realistic depiction. Godliauskas uses thick, impasto brushwork, loading the canvas with layers of paint that give the artwork a tactile quality. The painting feels alive, as if the colors themselves are in constant motion. Egidijus Godliauskas, known for his abstract style, creates visuals that require viewers to interpret their own meaning. His works often play with the intensity of color and the physicality of paint application. "Burning Water" is a perfect example of how he challenges our perceptions, asking us to see beyond the conventional to the emotion and metaphor beneath.
