Arvydas Zdanavičius, a modern Lithuanian artist, finished his studies at the Stepas Žukas Art College in 1971 and obtained his degree from the Lithuanian Institute of Art in 1976. His academic background laid a solid groundwork for his career in visual arts, where he is known for his unique painting style.
Throughout his career, Zdanavičius has organized approximately 20 solo exhibitions—nine of which were held in Lithuania and eleven in Germany. Beyond these personal exhibitions, he has also taken part in many group shows, thereby extending his reach and artistic influence both within Lithuania and abroad.
To Zdanavičius, paintings are far more than decorative pieces or elements of interior design. He believes each painting preserves a particular moment in time and serves as a distinctive means of self-expression. His artistic method reveals a profound link between his daily life and the works he creates.
Zdanavičius primarily works in oils using the palette knife (mastichino) technique, exploring a range of genres but showing a particular affinity for cityscapes. Through his art, he expresses his perspective on life, making painting a central part of who he is both personally and professionally.
About this artwork+
This painting titled "Golden Reflection" by Arvydas Zdanavičius is dynamic and colorful. The artwork shows abstract forms and structures, possibly reflecting a cityscape. Bold strokes of gold, blue, and white dominate, suggesting buildings and their reflections in water. The colors blend, blur, and contrast sharply, creating a lively and energetic scene. Zdanavičius uses abstract expressionism to capture mood and emotion. His style is free and spontaneous, with thick layers of paint applied energetically. The use of reflection and vertical lines adds depth, making the painting appear as both a physical landscape and a reflection. Arvydas Zdanavičius is known for such vivid, expressive works. He plays skillfully with color and form to evoke feelings and capture moments, rather than precise images. "Golden Reflection" is a vibrant example of his artistic vision.
