About this artwork+

This painting by Alvydas Goštautas is quite intriguing. It's called "Flood." The painting is filled with dynamic blue strokes that sweep across the canvas. These strokes create a sense of movement, reminiscent of rushing water. Amid the blue, there are glimpses of a map peeking through, hinting at a submerged world. The style used here is very expressive. Goštautas employs gestural brushwork that gives the artwork a vibrant, almost chaotic energy. It seems to capture the wild, uncontrollable nature of a flood. Overall, Alvydas Goštautas uses color and form to convey a powerful theme of nature's overwhelming force in "Flood." The choice of a map under swirling blue suggests a landscape overwhelmed by water, beautifully blending the abstract with the figurative.
