For Agnė Skrodenytė, painting represents an intimate avenue of artistic expression—she likens it to a dance with the muses and hears it as the music flowing from her heart. Through her visual creations, she channels her inner vitality, aspiring to transmit it to those who encounter her art. With every stroke of the brush, she experiences a sensation of liberation; to her, beauty is about welcoming the present moment with openness and fluidity, rather than striving for an unattainable ideal.

Her pieces unite elements from both dreams and reality, interlacing motifs inspired by fairy tales with fragments from imaginative, unfamiliar realms. Agnė takes pleasure in preserving an aura of enigma within her artwork, crafting a quiet conversation between her creations and their viewers. By encouraging those who view her art to discover their own interpretations, she transforms each encounter into a participatory exchange where every perspective helps to shape the narrative.

Agnė Skrodenytė embarked on her artistic path early in life, with her talents fostered through formal training at the art department of Joniškis Art School. She expanded on this groundwork by attending the University of Hertfordshire in London, where in 2016 she received a BA in Illustration. This period of academic growth broadened her vision and equipped her with skills to further refine her creative voice.

Her creations have been presented in a variety of settings, such as London and Cyprus—places where she has not only lived but also drawn inspiration. The fascination she feels for the changing play of light and the allure of nature continually shapes her artistic development. Agnė remains dedicated to her creative path, persistently seeking to produce works that evoke a sense of wonder and open up new possibilities.

About this artwork+

The painting depicts an abstract, almost cubist portrayal of a face, surrounded and intersected by various dynamic shapes and forms. The colors are vibrant – with hues of orange, yellow, purple, and hints of green. These intense colors add a dramatic quality to the imagery. The face itself, composed of fragmented sections, is drawn with bold, sweeping lines that suggest movement, while some parts of the face, notably the eye, are detailed with delicate, thin lines that evoke a sense of precision amidst the chaos. The background and the other elements around the face seem to blend and separate simultaneously, creating an effect of both depth and flatness. The overall composition is vivid, energetic, and seems to pulse with a life of its own.
