About this artwork+
In the painting, a woman with flowing golden-brown hair looks over her shoulder with an intense, captivating gaze. Her expression is fierce and somewhat haunting, marked by sharply drawn green eyes and full, slightly parted lips. The woman is depicted from the back, holding onto what appears to be a dark coat or cloak draped over a figure, only the shoulder of which is visible. The coat is textured, suggesting heaviness, and blends into the shadowy, indistinct background. The woman's skin is luminously pale against the dark fabric and the subtle, misty ambiance surrounding her. A black choker encircles her neck, adding a touch of stark, dark elegance to her otherwise bare appearance. The colors are muted, primarily shades of gray and brown, with highlights of the woman’s skin and hair offering a stark contrast to the darkness of the scene. The overall mood is one of mystery and intense emotion, portrayed through the woman’s compelling posture and piercing look.
